Places a Change Request within an Issue’s change-related structure.
When to use it
The Change Cockpit is the main UI for managing change types and their relationships. Use Issue – Change Request to organize a proposed change within the issue it addresses.
Records and direction
- Relationship type: Structure. Places the target record within the source record’s hierarchy.
- From: Issue.
- To: Change Request.
How to use it
- Create the relation with drag and drop in a Structure widget: drag the intended Change Request onto the Issue it relates to. Select Issue – Change Request, review the source, target, and any offered values, then confirm.
- Alternatively, use Connect from the source record and choose the target and Issue – Change Request relationship from the available options.
- Review the resulting connection in the structure or related information. Check the selected records, their versions where applicable, and the relationship filters if the link is not visible.
Example
Seal Leakage contains Improve Seal Design as a Change Request. The proposal is visible within the Issue’s change-related structure.
What to check
The Change Request belongs to the Issue’s structure. Review the proposal’s scope and its relationship to the problem under investigation.
Choosing the relationship
Issue – Change Request is a Structure relationship. Its hierarchy organizes the proposal; it does not establish that the change is approved or that the Issue has been resolved.
