Associates a Problem Report with an Issue without placing it in a structure. This is the ordinary Problem Report – Issue relationship.
When to use it
Use Problem Report – Issue to associate a reported observation with an Issue used for follow-up.
Records and direction
- Relationship type: Non-structure. Associates the records without creating a parent-child hierarchy.
- From: Problem Report.
- To: Issue.
How to use it
- Create the relation with drag and drop in a Structure widget: drag the intended Issue onto the Problem Report it relates to. Select Problem Report – Issue, review the source, target, and any offered values, then confirm.
- Alternatively, use Connect from the source record and choose the target and Problem Report – Issue relationship from the available options.
- Review the resulting connection in the structure or related information. Check the selected records, their versions where applicable, and the relationship filters if the link is not visible.
Example
Prototype Leakage Report is associated with Seal Leakage. The report preserves the observation, while the Issue coordinates investigation and resolution.
What to check
The records are associated without placing the Issue beneath the report in a structure. Review both to understand the observation and the follow-up.
Choosing the relationship
Problem Report – Issue is Non-structure. Use PR – Issue when the Issue must belong within the report’s structure. A relationship name alone is not enough to determine whether it creates a hierarchy.
