Connects a Workflow or Workflow Template to the records that form its working content. The content identifies what the process is handling.
When to use it
Use Workflow Content to identify the managed records the process is handling.
Records and direction
- Relationship type: Non-structure. Associates the records without creating a parent-child hierarchy.
- From: Workflow, Workflow Template.
- To: Document, Item, Issue, Idea, Problem Report.
How to use it
- Use the workflow tools to manage content records for the intended Workflow or Workflow Template, as applicable. Select the correct workflow record and follow its available process for adding or associating content records.
- Review the selected records and their relationship in the workflow context. Use the workflow’s normal controls to manage its process.
- Check the resulting connection and the selected record versions where applicable. Workflow relationships use the workflow tools; creating them by dropping records into a Structure widget is not the recommended procedure.
Example
Pump Manual Approval is connected to Operating Manual P-100 as Workflow Content. The manual is the information under review, rather than a process step or task.
What to check
The workflow identifies its working content. Review the selected content revisions and the scope of the process before starting it.
Choosing the relationship
Workflow Content is non-structure. Use Workflow – Task for activity membership and Reference for supporting information. Connecting content does not start the workflow or approve that content.
