Choose the record type that matches what you need to manage. In Nora IPLM, a product definition, its digital content, and the work performed around it have different purposes. Connect the records so users can understand the complete context.

Before creating a record
Search for existing records before creating new ones. Use the types offered in your workspace and enter the information requested by the form. Available fields, relationship choices, and commands follow the record type and your access. Check the revision and state of connected records when using them.
Example
For a pump manual review, Pump P-100 is an Item, Operating Manual P-100 is a Document, and Pump Manual.pdf is a File. Review Pump Manual is a Task. If the review follows a defined sequence, a Workflow coordinates the process. Each record has a distinct purpose, and their connections keep the work understandable.
