Places a Task or Node within a Project’s work structure.
When to use it
Use Project – Task to organize the activities that belong in a project’s work structure.
Records and direction
- Relationship type: Structure. Places the target record within the source record’s hierarchy.
- From: Project.
- To: Task, Node.
How to use it
- Create the relation with drag and drop in a Structure widget: drag the intended Task onto the Project it relates to. Select Project – Task, review the source, target, and any offered values, then confirm.
- Alternatively, use Connect from the source record and choose the target and Project – Task relationship from the available options.
- Review the resulting connection in the structure or related information. Check the selected records, their versions where applicable, and the relationship filters if the link is not visible.
Example
Pump Redesign contains Validate Seal Performance through Project – Task. The task retains its own instructions, responsibility, and progress information.
What to check
The Task or Node appears within the Project’s structure. Review its description and assignment to understand the work it represents.
Choosing the relationship
Project – Task defines structural membership. Task Dependency records a dependency between activities; Deliverable identifies an expected output. These connections do not replace one another.
