Connects a Task, Program, Project, Phase, or Gate to an Item or Document expected as a deliverable.
When to use it
Use Deliverable to identify the Item or Document expected as an output of work.
Records and direction
- Relationship type: Non-structure. Associates the records without creating a parent-child hierarchy.
- From: Task, Program, Project, Phase, Gate.
- To: Document, Item.
How to use it
- Create the relation with drag and drop in a Structure widget: drag the intended Document onto the Task it relates to. Select Deliverable, review the source, target, and any offered values, then confirm.
- Alternatively, use Connect from the source record and choose the target and Deliverable relationship from the available options.
- Review the resulting connection in the structure or related information. Check the selected records, their versions where applicable, and the relationship filters if the link is not visible.
Example
Complete Design Review is connected to Design Review Report. Reviewers can find the managed report associated with the activity and inspect its actual content.
What to check
The work record identifies an expected or supplied output. Check whether that output exists and is in the state needed for the work.
Choosing the relationship
Choose Deliverable for an output, Reference for supporting information, and Project – Task for an activity in a project structure. A link to an output does not prove the activity is complete.
