Connects two Risks to record a dependency or influence between them.
When to use it
Use Risk Dependency when you need to record this connection between the source and target records. Risk Dependency records a relationship between uncertainties.
Records and direction
- Relationship type: Non-structure. Associates records without creating a parent-child hierarchy.
- From: Risk.
- To: Risk.
How to use it
- Create the relation with drag and drop in a Structure widget: drag the intended Risk onto the Risk it relates to. Choose Risk Dependency, review the direction and any offered values, then confirm.
- Alternatively, use Connect from the source record and select the target with the Risk Dependency relationship.
- Review the resulting connection and the selected record versions where applicable. Check the displayed relationship filters if the connection is not visible.
Example
Supplier Delay (Risk) is connected to Prototype Delay (Risk) through Risk Dependency. The association lets readers follow the related information without creating a hierarchy. A dependency link records the association; the risk assessment should explain its meaning.
Choosing the relationship
Risk Dependency records a relationship between uncertainties. Explain the dependency in the risk assessments rather than treating the link as mitigation.
