Connects a Requirement to a Document used as a compliance reference or supporting evidence.
When to use it
Use Compliance Reference to make the evidence or reference documents for a requirement identifiable.
Records and direction
- Relationship type: Non-structure. Associates the records without creating a parent-child hierarchy.
- From: Requirement.
- To: Document.
How to use it
- Create the relation with drag and drop in a Structure widget: drag the intended Document onto the Requirement it relates to. Select Compliance Reference, review the source, target, and any offered values, then confirm.
- Alternatively, use Connect from the source record and choose the target and Compliance Reference relationship from the available options.
- Review the resulting connection in the structure or related information. Check the selected records, their versions where applicable, and the relationship filters if the link is not visible.
Example
Pump Leakage Limit is connected to Leakage Test Report. Reviewers compare the criterion, verification method, and report when assessing whether the requirement is met.
What to check
The Requirement points to a managed Document used for evidence or reference. The Document’s file provides its digital content.
Choosing the relationship
A Compliance Reference identifies relevant evidence. Compliance still depends on the assessment and approval information. Check the requirement, document revision, and report contents together.
