Associates an eligible record with a Baseline used as a named reference point.
When to use it
Use Baseline to associate a managed record with a named reference point used for review or comparison.
Records and direction
- Relationship type: Non-structure. Associates the records without creating a parent-child hierarchy.
- From: Eligible managed records, including Project, Item, Document, and Task.
- To: Baseline.
How to use it
- Create the relation with drag and drop in a Structure widget: drag the intended Baseline onto the Project it relates to. Select Baseline, review the source, target, and any offered values, then confirm.
- Alternatively, use Connect from the source record and choose the target and Baseline relationship from the available options.
- Review the resulting connection in the structure or related information. Check the selected records, their versions where applicable, and the relationship filters if the link is not visible.
Example
Pump Redesign is connected to Design Review Baseline. Users can locate the reference information associated with that stage of the project.
What to check
The relationship identifies a baseline association. Review the Baseline and its content to understand what the reference captures.
Choosing the relationship
The Baseline relationship and Create Baseline command serve different purposes. Creating an association is not proof that the source record has been frozen or that all its content was captured.
