Connects an Issue, change record, or Problem Report to an Item produced or identified as an outcome of the work.
When to use it
The Change Cockpit is the main UI for managing change types and their relationships. Use Resulting Item to identify an engineering Item produced or selected as an outcome of work.
Records and direction
- Relationship type: Non-structure. Associates the records without creating a parent-child hierarchy.
- From: Issue, Change Order, Change Task, Change Request, Problem Report.
- To: Item.
How to use it
- Create the relation with drag and drop in a Structure widget: drag the intended Item onto the Change Order it relates to. Select Resulting Item, review the source, target, and any offered values, then confirm.
- Alternatively, use Connect from the source record and choose the target and Resulting Item relationship from the available options.
- Review the resulting connection in the structure or related information. Check the selected records, their versions where applicable, and the relationship filters if the link is not visible.
Example
Implement Seal Redesign is connected to Updated Seal S-11. The Change Order identifies the engineering item associated with its implementation outcome.
What to check
The work record points to an Item outcome. Verify that the item information and revision correspond to what the work actually produced.
Choosing the relationship
Use Affected Item for the starting scope and Resulting Item for an Item outcome. Creating the association does not create the item, release it, or replace its existing uses.
