Places a Project within a Project Template’s associated project structure.
When to use it
Use Project Template when you need to record this connection between the source and target records. Project Template associates a Project with its reusable starting definition.
Records and direction
- Relationship type: Structure. Places the target within the source record’s hierarchy.
- From: Project Template.
- To: Project.
How to use it
- Create the relation with drag and drop in a Structure widget: drag the intended Project onto the Project Template it relates to. Choose Project Template, review the direction and any offered values, then confirm.
- Alternatively, use Connect from the source record and select the target with the Project Template relationship.
- Review the resulting connection and the selected record versions where applicable. Check the displayed relationship filters if the connection is not visible.
Example
Product Introduction Template (Project Template) is connected to Pump Redesign (Project) through Project Template. The target appears within the source’s structure. The link records the association with the template; it does not itself create the project.
Choosing the relationship
Project Template associates a Project with its reusable starting definition. The connection itself does not create a Project.
