The Nora IPLM CAD Connector helps CATIA users keep CAD work connected with product data management. Teams can retrieve CAD data, configure additional formats, upload files and metadata, and synchronize product structures into Nora IPLM.
Once data is managed, users can preview models, open uploaded assemblies, promote lifecycle states, reserve objects, create iterations and revisions, finalize releases, and compare design differences from the connected workflow.

How to Use the Nora IPLM CAD Connector with CATIA
Follow these steps in the same order as the Word document.
Launch CATIA from Desktop.
Open the Desktop Widget.
Click on “Get Data”.
Configure additional formats.
Click Sync Data.
Nora IPLM processes the uploaded files and creates the product structure. A success message confirms successful structure creation.
Preview the models directly within Nora IPLM.
Open the uploaded data.
Select assemblies or parts, promote them to the desired lifecycle state, and perform reserve/unreserve operations directly from the CAD Connector.
Make changes to the models and synchronize the updated files to create new iterations in Nora IPLM.
Open the Relations pane to access and review the newly created iterations.
Select the required parts and assemblies and click Finalize to release them to the Released lifecycle state.
Open the released assembly in CATIA, make changes to the assembly, and synchronize the updated design as a new revision.
Open the Relations pane, access the new revision, and click the Thumbnail/Preview area to visualize the models and analyze design differences.
Open both revisions in a comparison widget to compare the designs.
