Which file formats are supported?

The viewer supports native KiCad .kicad_pcb files, supported Gerber and Excellon layer files, ZIP archives containing those manufacturing files, and STEP 3D models.

Do reviewers need KiCad or a desktop CAD application installed?

No. Supported files can be viewed directly in the browser through Nora IPLM.

Can I view PCB files and STEP models side by side?

Yes. Open multiple Viewer widgets to inspect PCB layouts, manufacturing layers, and STEP models alongside one another.

Can I edit the PCB layout?

KiCad and Gerber modes support read-only visual inspection. PCB design changes remain in your ECAD authoring tool.

Does the viewer perform design-rule or manufacturing checks?

The viewer is designed for visual inspection and design review. Automated design-rule checks, manufacturing validation, and mechanical interference analysis remain separate engineering workflows.
