The Promote command allows authorized users to move an object forward to the next lifecycle state in Nora IPLM. You can use this command to reflect progress as an object completes reviews, approvals, or validations. As a result, teams can move product data through defined lifecycle stages in a controlled and traceable way.
This command enforces lifecycle rules while supporting structured progress. Because of this, teams can advance objects with confidence, knowing that each transition remains consistent with PLM processes and governance.
Why Use the “Promote” Command
Teams use the Promote command to advance objects as work progresses. It supports clear decision points and ensures that objects move forward only when they are ready.
You can use this command when:
- A design reaches the next maturity level
- A validation or review process is completed
- An approval decision is finalized
Lifecycle rules control which transitions are allowed. Therefore, objects can move forward only to valid next states.
