The Relations Pane is a panel that displays relevant relationship tabs for objects. It is located at the bottom edge of each widget and opens within the widget context.
Features
- Dynamic Updates: In widgets that manage multiple objects (Table, Structure, Search, Viewer, Workflow, Navigator, Timeline, Comparison, Kanban, Desktop, and Charts), the Relations Pane reloads with each object selection. If multiple objects are selected, it displays the relations of the last selected object.
- Relationship Tabs: Relationships specific to each object type are presented as tabs. Objects related to the main object are listed in tabular form under the appropriate tab.
- Editing in Tabs: Click the Edit button on the Relations Pane command bar to enter edit mode. Updates can be made to related objects, such as changing thumbnails or modifying attributes.
- Displaying Relations in All Directions:
- Child-Parent Relationships: Parents of the main object are shown as “From,” and children are shown as “To.”
- Customized Table Views: Each tab includes table views tailored specifically to the object type.
- Command Menu: All commands available in table-type widgets can be used within the Relations Pane. Relationship attributes are managed directly via the command bar.
Creating and Deleting Relations
The Relations Pane supports the creation and deletion of relations between the main object and other objects displayed in the pane.
Deleting Relations
There are two ways to delete a relationship:
- Select the object, then click Disconnect from the command bar or right-click menu.
- Select the object, then click Cut from the command bar or right-click menu.
Creating Relations
There are two ways to create a relationship:
- Drag and Drop: Drag an object into the relevant tab of the main object. The dropped object will have a “To”relation with the main object.
- Paste: Paste objects that were previously cut or copied.
Note: If the object types are not supported for the selected relationship type, the relation will not be created.
Cut and Copy
- Cut or Copy: After selecting a related object and executing the Cut or Copy command, it is stored in the clipboard section until pasted.
- Paste: Select the target parent object and execute Paste. You will be prompted to choose the type of relationship to create.
- Cut Objects: Once pasted, cut objects are removed from the original location, and the old relation is deleted.
