Purpose
Nora IPLM allows users to upload PDF files as documents or drawings and view them directly within the platform. This enables easy access, review, and sharing of files without leaving the PLM environment.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Open Quick Create
You have two ways to start creating a document object:
- From the Platform Toolbar: Click Quick Create in the top-right corner of the platform.
- From a Widget: Open a Table or Details Widget and click Quick Create in the top-right corner of the widget command bar.
2. Select Object Type
- Choose Document or Drawing as the object type you want to create.
3. Fill in Object Attributes
- Enter the relevant attributes for the document, such as Name, Description, Document Type, or any other required fields.
4. Upload the PDF File
- In the File field, upload the PDF from your computer.
5. Create the Object
- Click Create to finalize the object creation.
Once created, the object will automatically open in the Details Widget, or in the current widget if the command was executed from a widget.
6. View the PDF
You can open the PDF in the Viewer Widget in several ways:
- From the Details Widget Command Bar: Click Open in Viewer.
- From the Right-Click Menu: Right-click the object and select Open in Viewer.
- Drag and Drop: Drag the object directly into the Viewer Widget.
The PDF will be displayed immediately in the Viewer Widget, ready for review.
Tips & Notes
- You can upload one PDF per document/drawing.
- The Viewer Widget supports quick navigation and review of large PDF files without leaving Nora IPLM.
- Ensure the file is in PDF format; other file types require different object types or viewers.
