Nora IPLM provides the Take Assignment command to allow users to take ownership of one or more tasks.
This command is used when a user wants to assign selected tasks to themselves and become the responsible assignee.
By enabling users to explicitly take task ownership, Nora IPLM supports clear responsibility assignment, workload control, and transparent task execution within workflows.
Take Assignment
The Take Assignment command allows users to assign selected task(s) to themselves.
Once executed, the current user becomes the assignee of the task, and responsibility for task execution is transferred accordingly.
This command does not modify workflow structure or task definitions. It only updates task ownership.
Why Use Take Assignment
In workflow-driven processes, tasks may initially be unassigned or assigned to roles or groups.
The Take Assignment command allows individual users to explicitly claim responsibility when they are ready to work on a task.
You can use Take Assignment when:
- A task is available and needs to be taken over by a specific user
- Responsibility for a task should be clearly defined
- Multiple available tasks need to be assigned to the same user at once
- Task ownership should be updated without changing workflow execution
Applicable Object Type
- Take Assignment works only for Task objects
