The Revise command allows users to create a new revision of an object in Nora IPLM. You can use this command to record a formal, traceable change and establish a new baseline for the object. As a result, teams can manage meaningful updates in a controlled and auditable way.
This command supports structured change management while preserving lifecycle integrity. Because of this, teams can introduce approved changes with confidence, knowing that revisions remain consistent with PLM governance and traceability requirements.
Why Use the “Revise” Command
Teams use the Revise command to capture significant and approved changes. It creates a new baseline that reflects the latest accepted state of an object.
You can use this command when:
- A change is complete and ready to be formalized
- A new baseline is required for approvals or audits
- Lifecycle progression depends on an updated version
- Historical comparison and traceability are needed
Unlike iterations, revisions represent intentional and formal updates that may impact related data.
