The Export to Excel command allows users to export object data from Nora IPLM into Excel format for external use. Within Nora IPLM, product data is centrally managed and continuously evolving across different lifecycle stages. Therefore, having a reliable way to extract up-to-date and structured data supports informed decision-making beyond the platform.
With the Export to Excel command, users can access this functionality directly from widget toolbars or from the right-click menus of objects within widgets. In widgets that manage multiple objects, selected objects are exported together, while in single-object widgets, the active object can be exported individually. As a result, teams can easily review, share, and analyze Nora IPLM data in familiar formats while ensuring that the system remains the single source of truth.
Why Use the “Export to Excel” Command
During product development and lifecycle management, teams frequently need to review or share data beyond the PLM environment. For example, product information may be required for reporting, offline analysis, or collaboration with stakeholders who do not have direct system access. In such cases, the Export to Excel command provides a practical and controlled solution.
You can use this command when:
- Multiple objects need to be reviewed or compared outside the system
- Product data must be shared with external teams or partners
- Offline analysis or custom reporting is required
Importantly, exporting data does not modify or remove objects in Nora IPLM. The command ensures that product data remains accurate and authoritative within the system while still being easily accessible for external use.
