The Cut command in Nora IPLM is used to remove objects from widgets for display purposes or to delete object relations in structure and relation views. The object is stored in the Clipboard after cutting and can be pasted elsewhere within the platform.
Where to Find the “Cut” Command
You can access the Cut command from:
- The right-click menu of any object in widgets
- The command bar of all widgets
Note: Not available in Lists and Search Pane.
1. Cut for Display Purposes Only
Used for removing objects from their current display context (not deleting any data or relations).
How to Use:
- Right-click on any object shown in a widget (excluding structure widgets, timeline widgets, and relation panes),
or - Select the object and click the Cut command in the widget’s command bar.
What Happens:
- A success notification appears in the bottom-left corner.
- The object is added to your Clipboard (accessible from the left pane).
2. Cut for Deleting Relations
Used for deleting the relationship between objects in Structure widgets, Timeline widgets, or the Relations pane.
How to Use:
- Open a multi-relation object in a Structure or Timeline widget, or access the Relations pane.
- Select the related object that you want to remove from the relationship.
- Click the Cut command in the command bar,
or
Right-click the object and choose Cut.
What Happens:
- A success notification will appear in the bottom-left corner.
- When you attempt to paste the object elsewhere, a confirmation popup will appear to finalize the deletion of the relation.
