Purpose
The Collaboration Tab in the Info Pane allows users to add messages, share updates, and collaborate directly on any object in Nora IPLM. You can attach images, tag colleagues, and track discussions across objects and their structure.
When to Use
- You want to communicate with team members about a specific object or project.
- You need to share updates, attach files, or provide context without leaving the platform.
- You need visibility of collaboration activity across parent and child objects.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Access the Collaboration Tab
- Open an object in Nora IPLM in any widget focused on object management.
- Click on the Info Pane on the right side of the screen.
- Select the Collaboration Tab from the available tabs.
Adding a Collaboration Message
- Click the New Message field.
- Type your message.
- Optionally, attach images by clicking the Attach Image icon.
- To tag a user, type @ followed by their name. Tagged users will receive a notification.
- Click Post to save the message.
Switching Modes
- Object-Level Mode: Shows messages only for the current object.
- Multi-Level Mode: Displays messages for the current object and all its children in the structure.
- Switch modes by clicking the mode names in the Collaboration Tab header.
Searching and Filtering Messages
- Use the Search Bar to find messages by keywords.
- Apply filters to narrow messages by:
- Tags
- People (author or tagged users)
- Dates
- Filtered results update dynamically, showing only the relevant messages.
Tips & Notes
- Multi-level mode is useful for getting a full view of all collaboration activity across a product structure or a program/project.
- Messages with images or attachments can still be filtered and searched.
- Use tagging strategically to notify only relevant team members.
- Collaboration messages are object-specific, so adding a message to one object does not appear in unrelated objects.
Troubleshooting
- Tagged users do not receive notifications: Ensure their notification settings allow Collaboration Tab alerts.
- Cannot attach images: Check file size and format; supported formats are PNG, JPG, and GIF.
- Messages not appearing in multi-level mode: Confirm that child objects have messages and that you are in multi-level mode.
