The Connect Change Request to Change Order command allows you to link an approved Change Request (CR) to a Change Order (CO). It copies all affected items and their related attributes, including operation categories, into the selected CO, ensuring a smooth transition from request to execution.
Availability
- Located under the Change Management command group.
- Becomes available once you select a Change Request in Approved state.
Key Functions
Connect or Create Change Order
- Create New Change Order – Start a new CO and link all affected items from the approved CR.
- Select Existing Change Order – Choose a CO to link the approved CR.
- Copy Affected Items – All items linked to the CR, along with their operation categories and other relevant attributes, are copied to the CO.
Preconditions
- The Change Request must be in an Approved state to execute this command.
Ownership Rules
- Ownership of the CO remains unchanged if connecting to an existing CO.
- If creating a new CO, the user executing the command becomes the owner.
- Items copied from the CR inherit the operation categories and attributes defined in the CR.
Restrictions
- Each affected item can only be connected to one active Change Order at a time.
- Only CRs in the Approved state can be connected.
Example Workflow
- Select an approved Change Request.
- Run the Connect Change Request to Change Order command.
- Choose to create a new CO or connect to an existing CO.
- All affected items and their attributes (e.g., operation categories) are copied to the CO.
- Confirm to finalize the connection.
Notes
- This command ensures all item details and execution categories from the CR are preserved in the CO.
- Once connected, the CO can be used to implement changes for all copied items.
