Workspaces Overview
A workspace is the primary unit for defining the ownership and access rights of objects. It serves as the central organizational element, associating objects with specific people and organizational entities (P&O).
- Membership to a Workspace: Each workspace can include various P&O elements such as individuals (Persons), organizations, teams, departments, and more.
- Access Rights and Permissions:
- Each workspace has its own set of access rights for its members.
- Permissions can be tailored for specific P&O elements, allowing for greater control over who can interact with objects within the workspace.
- Object Ownership: An object can only belong to one workspace at a time, which allows for clear ownership and access management.
- Default Workspace: A public workspace named “Default” is created initially to serve as a starting point for organizing objects and members.
- Current Workspace:
- Each active user has a “Current Workspace” selected at any time.
- This selection determines the workspace ownership for any newly created objects.
- The “Current Workspace” can be selected from a list within the user interface, displaying all workspaces to which the user has creation rights.
- Changing the Workspace of an object
: Object owners and administrators have the ability to reassign an object’s workspace using the “Change Workspace” command, allowing flexibility in organizational structure and access rights.
