Comparison Widget
Compare objects, BOMs, projects and baselines side by side for faster, informed, and streamlined PLM decisions.
Streamline Reviews with Our Comparison Widget
Nora’s Comparison Widget enables users to visually compare multiple objects, versions, or structures in a unified view, making it easy to spot differences, validate changes, and accelerate decision-making.
Multi-Object and Multi-Type Comparison
Instantly compare multiple objects, revisions, or baselines side by side with synchronized structures, visual cues, and a dedicated reference object for accurate difference tracking.
Effortless Attribute and Structure Comparison
Quickly compare multiple objects, with differences
and similarities highlighted for easy analysis.
Reference-Based Attribute Comparison
By selecting a reference object, all other objects can be compared based on its attributes, with differences highlighted for quick analysis.
Interactive Structural Object Comparison
When objects are hovered over in structural comparison mode, the same object in other structures is highlighted in yellow, making it easier to visually track identical objects.
Quick Revision, Iteration and Baseline Search
The widget includes revision, iteration, baseline search fields, allowing users to easily locate and compare different versions of the objects.
Multi-Object Comparison with 10 Columns
Compare multiple objects, revisions, or baselines simultaneously in a single view. Gain a complete, side-by-side view that helps you analyze design changes, structural variations, and attribute differences with ease.
Reference and Object Selection
Every comparison session in Nora IPLM includes one mandatory reference object.
The first object added to the comparison automatically becomes the reference object.
The reference object defines the baseline for all color-coded comparisons and structural alignment.
Users can change the reference object at any time using the Set as Reference command.
Additional objects can then be selected and compared against this reference, allowing detailed evaluation of how each object differs in composition, attributes, or revision.
Default Mode Enhancements
The Default Mode enhances readability and difference detection through intelligent background highlights applied when hovering over objects. These visual cues help users quickly identify the relationship and status of each object relative to the reference.
Structure Mode and Relationship Filtering
In Structure View, users can analyze hierarchical relationships between objects and subassemblies.
The Relationship Manager panel within the widget allows filtering based on:
Relationship type (e.g., subitem, related document, affected item, etc.)
Direction (e.g., parent → child or reverse)
Depth levels in the structure (to narrow or expand comparison scope).
This makes it easy to isolate specific relationship sets — such as comparing only affected items or released child components — for precise, context-driven comparisons.
Reference-Based Comparison
Start every comparison with a designated reference object that defines the baseline for visual and structural alignment. All other objects are compared against it for clear difference tracking.
Multi-Object Support
Compare up to 10 objects in a single view. Add them via drag and drop, the Open in Comparison command, or Quick Access Filters for fast setup and flexible workflows.
Interactive Structure Mode
Explore and align hierarchical structures with synchronized expansion, collapse, and hover highlighting. Identify missing or extra components across multiple assemblies at a glance.
Smart Color Highlights
Detect object presence, revision differences, and structure variations through contextual hover colors:
Green for reference-only objects
Yellow for shared objects
Red for missing ones
Light blue for revision differences
Relationship Manager
Filter and analyze object connections within the structure view. Focus comparisons by relationship type, direction, or depth to evaluate dependencies and change impacts precisely.
Multiple Comparison Modes
View and compare data in multiple modes: Common, Unique to Reference, Different but Shared, Different Revisions, and Same as Reference.
Excel Export and Print
Generate structured reports of compared objects, attributes, and relationships. Exported files retain the same highlight colors for consistent review and documentation.
Compare with 3D Preview
Instantly compare designs with the integrated preview mode.
Accessible and Responsive Design
Optimized for both light and dark themes, with clear contrast and scalable layout to maintain readability across complex comparisons.
